I am Hmong and Mika my name Ngao Shoua means the beautiful sound of the rain. It is pronounced Gow Shoe Ah like Joshoua with Gow instead of Josh. My last name is Whitethorn not whitehorn. It means a thorn that is colored white. I am grateful to all the men and boys of the sport of wrestling who have brought the sport to women. Through it I have learned what it means to earn respect even in defeat and have experienced the brotherhood men speak of that few women can even comprehend. When people ask why I wrestle my response is that if you have to ask you would not understand.
